by Site Default

That’s right ladies and gentleman, Lamborghini has released its new flagship at the Geneva pre-show event: the 2012 Aventador, and as usual, the Italian car manufacturer named it after a bull.

Being powered by a monstrous 7.5L V12 engine which produces 700 horsepower and 690 Nm of torque, the Aventador reaches speeds of up to 217 mph and makes 0-60 in 2.9 seconds. The fuel consumption is 13.5 mpg.

The transmission is a Haldex 4WD electronic control system with a Robotized Lamborghini Independent Shifting Rod gearbox. The Aventador also features Carbon-Ceramic brakes to reduce the braking distance and the overheating of the tires and brakes.

The car will weigh 1,575 kg, and will have the best horsepower/kg ratio in any car in its class. The car has been available since late summer 2011. Price is $379,700, which is not much for the capabilities of this stunning vehicle.
