The new 2012 Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series Sedan. Will it beat the M3 this time?

by Alex

AMG has been known for its production of the most radical Mercedes Benz that can be seen on the street. There was the Black Series model that was labeled as controversial and even insane by some. It was the work of enthusiasts on these cars that turned them into classic models. If one considers the DTN racing model that was seen in the past the Black Series resembles that car to quite a close extent. The wide body kit and the improved suspension along with improved performance are the only difference. With the extensive use of carbon fiber, the overall weight of the car also has been reduced to make it considerably lighter.

There is the SL, CLK and the SLK AMG Black as the variants in the Black series with each of them resembling the special agent of the SIS. All of the cars are well known for their high speed characteristics with each one of them capable of burning some serious rubber.

Now a Black Series for the C-Class would mean Mercedes is in a position of complete dominance over every other manufacturer of repute, something that has eluded the three pointed star so far. Or to put it in simple terms, it would mean Mercedes has been able to out perform the mighty M3. Till date, Mercedes has tried with all its iteration to outdo the M3 but failed to do so until now. Each time, BMW seems to have the last laugh with its M3 or the 3-series beating every new edition of the AMG C-Class and the C-class in general that Mercedes comes out with. It has turned out to be a routine of sorts – Mercedes taking good care of the biggest flaw that differentiates it from the 3-series but then, seems to loose track of the plot somewhere else. It now remains to be seen if an all out AMG treatment can make the Mercedes a true contender for the King’s title.
