Some of you may know what kind of vehicles Morgan produces: top-of-the art technology with early 20th century design. They will reveal several vehicles at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, among which you will find the 2012 Morgan Aero Coupe.
After the 2000 Morgan Aero 8, the 2005 Aero Coupe and the 2009 Aero SuperSport, the 2012 Morgan Aero Coupe will be a genuine coupe, according to Morgan. The Aero Coupe is actually a modified SuperSport, with a closed body and a new rear shape.
The engine is once again a BMW. It has 8 cylinders arranged in a V shape, and each of them has a capacity of 4.8-liters. They produce a total of 367 horsepower, which allows a top speed of 170 mph and a sprint to 60 in just 4.3 seconds. There will also be a Sport version available that gets a maximum of 390 horsepower. The fuel consumption is rather high, estimated at 20 mpg.
The transmission is either a six speed manual, or a six speed automatic. The automatic version adds 8 kg to the car’s weight, for a total curb weight of 1,183 kg.
More information (including cost price) will be released at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. We will fill you in as more news becomes available.
