2013 Ford EcoSport enters Geneva

After showcasing the car at the Mobile World Congress in february, Ford is displaying the Euro-spec 2013 EcoSport in Geneva.

Built to make it a more affordable solution for an SUV from Ford, the EcoSport is placed below the Kuga and is based on Fiesta’s platform. It will be sold with the 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine in 125 HP (92 kW) output version, along with a 1.5-liter producing 110 HP (81 kW). Diesel fans will be able to organize the car with a 1.5-liter giving 90 HP (66 kW).

Being one of the first models in Europe to come with Ford SYNC AppLink system which provides support for voice-controlled smartphone applications. There also going to be SYNC Emergency Assistance which will link passengers to local emergency services operators after an accident or an incident. This will be available in local language and utilize the information gathered from the GPS to find out the location of the accident.
