The 2013 Taurus has some impressive specifications. The twin-turbocharged engine has six cylinders arranged in a V-shape with a capacity of 3.5-liters. The power output (or Super High Output, what SHO stands for) is 365 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. This power is transmitted to the all-wheel drive system through a 6-speed automatic transmission, which proves surprisingly responsive for a vehicle of this size.

The weight is 4,343 lbs, which may seem much, but remember what class this vehicle’s a part of. Thanks to the power output, and the acceptable drivability, the driver wouldn’t even notice he’s driving something this heavy.

The car goes from 0 to 60 in 5.1 seconds which is more than good for this class. Apart from that, the fuel consumption is great: 17 mpg in the city, and 25 on the highway. You would think that a car with this weight and power would kill fuel like a tank, but Ford figured out a way to combine saving the planet, with a type of car that used to do just the opposite. Kudos!

The base cost price is around $40,000. It’s not at all that much, if you have in mind that other cars in the same class are up to 50% more expensive. If you like big American cars, and are willing to live with the downsides we presented in these articles, than the 2013 Taurus SHO is definitely for you.

I have a 13 SHO, THIS IS MY 5th version and each gets better then the last, this model is incredible, I have had it up to 150 and still had room to go, in other words I tapped out before it did!
I live in the mountains and the all wheel drive make driving on the winding roads a joy, even when it snows I haven’t had to use chains when everyone around me does.
All in all this car is a secret that Ford need to tell, this is the best car Ford makes that no one knows about!
