2014 Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series prices announced in US

Mercedes has recently announced the pricing of the 2014 SLS AMG Black Series in the US market.

Described as a street-legal version of the SLS AMG GT3, the model will be priced from $275,000 (excluding destination charge of $1,800) when it goes on sale from next month. The Black Series features an aerodynamic body kit with modified bumpers, revised side skirts, flared wheel arches, rear diffuser, a carbon fiber wing and 19- / 20-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

Power will be provided by a 6.2-liter V8 engine which would generate 622 hp (464 kW) and 468 lb-ft (634 Nm) of torque. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-100 kmph) in just 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 196 mph (315 kmph).

The company also announced that the C63 AMG Edition 507 sedan will cost $70,000 while the C63 Edition 507 coupe will come for $72,500 (both excluding a $925 destination charge). The models feature a 6.2-liter V8 engine that generates 507 hp (372 kW) and 450 lb-ft (609 Nm) of torque. The cars can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 174 mph (280 kmph).
