2015 BMW 7-Series spied undergoing testing in Germany

by SpeedLux

The development work continues on the 2015 BMW 7-Series as the spies have recently taken some new pictures of the S-Class competitor.

Dressed in heavy camo, the prototype comes with an evolutionary design with rounded surfaces and a familiar front end. Since there was lot of camo, the details were hard to make out but the model comes with a rakish windscreen, a more dramatic roofline and a stylish dual exhaust system.

Despite the same design, the sedan could be significantly lighter as it expected to come fitted with a number of aluminum and carbon fiber components which help model to reduce its weight. Nothing is official but there are rumors that suggest that the weight savings could be anywhere from 200 to 500 lbs (91 kg to 226 kg).

Engine options will likely include the usual suspects but there have been reports previously that have indicated that the model could be offered with a new four-cylinder engine that develops around 260 hp (194 kW). There have also been rumors about a possible M770i xDrive that uses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 mill that produces 475 hp (354 kW) and 480 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque.

Have a look at picture gallery, although some are old.
