2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 rendered

by Max Richardson

Last month we showed you spy shots of a hot track oriented Porsche Cayman GT4.

The flagship Cayman will sit above the recently unveiled GTS model and is expected to carry either GT3, GT4 or R moniker.

This new model will narrow the cap between standard 911, or possibly even beat the entry level 911.

The above rendering by talented Wildspeed gives us a good look at what to expect when the new flagship Cayman arrives in late 2015 or in early 2016. We can see the familiar large rear wing as on the prototypes, along with a more aggressive body.

What power the new model is unknown, but sources are talking about either a detuned 911 S-sourced flat-six 3.8-liter engine or a turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine working with an electric motor.

In either case the engine will be linked most likely to a PDK gearbox borrowed from the 911 GT3.

Pricing is expected start from around $125,000 (90,000 EUR).
