2016 Renault Megane First Images Snatched

by SpeedLux

The Megane vehicle model from the French automaker, Renault, is now entering its fourth generation. There is very little information regarding the vehicle but now, there have been a number of images of the car uploaded onto the internet. These images are the very first spy images of the vehicle ever. Well, at least these images show the car in its production guise, not just some test chassis.

For your information, the Megane from Renault is actually one of the oldest vehicle models that customers can possibly find in the C segment, which is very competitive. The France-based automaker has been selling this vehicle model in particular ever since the year 2008. When the latest generation Megane was caught on camera, it seemed that the car was being evaluated at the northern region of the Arctic Circle.

When it was spotted, the car was actually wearing very heavy camouflage. Nonetheless, it is not necessarily that difficult to see that the fourth generation Megane from Renault features a visual styling that is much sleeker when compared to its predecessor. It seems as if the car has borrowed plenty of styling cues from Renault Espace and the Renault Clio.

The car also seems to have a number of similarities with the Pulsar. After all, it is also going to take advantage of the CMF – which stands for Common Modular Family – platform. Just so you know, this platform is the result of the collaboration between Renault and the Japanese automaker, Nissan. As such, the car is also going to pack a Nissan-Renault engine, a 1.2L TCe 130 engine with a total power output of 130 hp and a total torque of 205 Nm. However, a higher trim variant may as well get a 1.6L TCe 200 engine derived from the Renault Espace. This one has 200 hp of power and 260 Nm of torque. Diesel engines are likely to become available as well. In this case, customers can choose a dCi 130 engine with 130 hp of power and 320 Nm of torque. Alternatively, customers can also choose a dCi 160 diesel engine with 160 hp of power and 380 Nm of torque.
