Buick has formally released the 2017 LaCrosse Hybrid EV in China, and with its launch comes an official cost.

The 2017 Buick LaCrosse Hybrid EV will begin at RMB 275,800 ($41,275), while fully-speced models will bring a cost of RMB 305,800 ($45,765).

The 2017 LaCrosse Hybrid is geared up with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine combined to a 1.5-kWh high-performance lithium-ion battery unit. This powertrain mix benefits 4.7 liters of fuel usage per every 100 kilometers. That’s 1.24 gallons for every 62 miles.

Buick specifies those numbers provide a 35 percent boost in performance over the outgoing LaCrosse eAssist.

Buick has not given any concrete strategies to bring the LaCrosse Hybrid to the United States market, for that reason leaving the 3.6-liter LGX V6 engine as the sole choice in the North American market.
