SCHAUMBURG, IL — January 27, 2010— A smooth-riding coach model with an American identity has proven to be a bonus when transporting entertainers known for their championing of the red, white and blue. Case in point: All Access Coach Leasing, which has taken delivery of three MCI J4500 conversion shells and is expecting three more. Eric Blankenship, co-owner of the Gallatin, Tennessee, entertainer-transportation company, said client Trace Adkins chose one of the MCIs to be his star coach specifically because it was made by a company headquartered in the U.S.
Other performers have been similarly positive about the J4500. “We’ve had a very good reaction,” said Blankenship, who first decided he wanted to add the J4500 to his 42-coach fleet after taking it for a long drive. “I thought, ‘This is a nice ride,'” said Blankenship, who runs the company with partner Jim Borelli. “We can make this work.”
All Access debuted its first J4500 shell, the one that Adkins will ride, at an open house January 19 at All Access’ new administrative and repair facility, an event that drew 400 guests including state and local officials. The coach is outfitted with a triple slide-out, a rear bedroom suite with steam shower and a lounge at the front of the vehicle. Star City Coachworks, Vinton, Virginia, handled the custom build-out.
The J4500 conversion shell is based on the best-selling seated coach on the market, which features MCI’s patented spiral entryway, wide-ride suspension, SmarTire® tire-pressure monitoring, and a host of driver amenities. Designed in collaboration with BMW Designworks, it also features a high ceiling, which makes it possible to accommodate multiple bunks. All Access is using its other two delivered J4500s as 12-bunk band buses complete with front and rear lounges as well as showers. All Access loads its coaches with features including flat-panel televisions, in-bunk video, gaming systems, surround sound, satellite television and wireless Internet service.
All Access Coach is a leading entertainer-coach company that offers star, band and crew coaches. Blankenship, who came to Nashville to start a music career, met Borelli when both were working for another coach company that was, coincidentally, housed in the same facility that All Access now occupies. Blankenship and Borelli started All Access eight years ago and have grown steadily since. Clients have included Martina McBride, Larry the Cable Guy, Santana, and Citizen Cope.
Headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois, and with manufacturing facilities in Pembina, North Dakota and Winnipeg, Motor Coach Industries is the leading coach manufacturer in the United States and Canada, with sales, maintenance and repair facilities in both countries. Its J4500 has been the industry’s best-selling intercity coach for six years. Its D-Series is the best-selling line of coaches in industry history.
