The Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo is going to reach limited production through custom builder who will use as foundation the SLS AMG GT.
Though the AMG Gran Turismo is expected to enter production phase, in reality it won’t be a true production version of the stunning concept. Based on the 2014 SLS AMG GT, the entire body is made from carbon fiber which will help reduce more than 200 lbs (91 kg). It will ride on custom ADV.1 wheels while the exterior will feature a chrome paint job. Other highlights include a bespoke exhaust system and a retractable rear spoiler, while the interior will be slightly modified.
Under the hood, power will be provided by same V8 6.3-liter engine inside the SLS AMG GT which outputs 591 HP (435 kW) transferred to the wheels through an AMG DCT Speedshift seven-speed sports transmission. The standard 2014 SLS AMG GT achieves the 62 mph (100 kmph) in 3.7 seconds and so we can expect the custom version to do it around 0.1-0.2 seconds quicker due to the lower curb weight.
It is a limited edition and so only five cars will be modified of which one is already sold, two will go to Europe and balance two will reach the Middle East.
