It seems that this year’s Chicago Auto Show event is just getting more and more exciting. This time, the Japanese automaker, Nissan, has officially unveiled a roadster version of its Nissan 370Z NISMO. Needless to say, this roadster concept comes with an array of exciting elements, including an aggressively looking front bumper, LED daytime running lights, redesigned side skirts, a rear spoiler made of carbon fiber, red accents and also 19-inch forged aluminum wheels wrapped in the Potenza S001 tires from Bridgestone.
The cabin also looks sporty and attractive with the inclusion of a steering wheel wrapped in the Alcantara leather material, contrasting red stitches and Recaro sport seats that feature a 2-tone color. Other components that also deserve attention include an onboard 7-inch infotainment system, Bose audio system and a newly designed instrument panel.
In terms of performance, the car counts on a 3.7L V6 engine. Mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox, the engine is capable of delivering 350 bhp and 373 Nm of power and torque, respectively. The gearbox also offers a manual shifting mode and what the Japanese company calls the Downshift Rev Matching feature.
According to Nissan and its NISMO division, in order to enhance the performance that this open top 370Z can offer, the car has also been equipped with a set of stabilizer bars larger than those of its predecessor, sport suspensions with stiffer springs, rear limited slip differential, high performance brakes and a strut tower brace.
Speaking of the Nissan 370Z NISMO roadster, Pierre Loing, the Vice President of Product Planning for the North American division of Nissan, points out that this vehicle is a realization of a long-time dream and that the people at Nissan believe customer reaction will be nothing less than astonishing.
