BMW M3 carbon fiber aerodynamic components released by BMW Performance

by Alex

Three aerodynamic performance appurtenances were announced for the M3 Coupe, Sedan, and Convertible by BMW. These three add-ons include a new rear deck lid spoiler, mirror caps, and front splitters that are made of ultra-rigid carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) matching the standard CFRP roof panel of the M3 Coupe. CFRP is a composite material giving enough strength compared to its counterparts.

Each of the component parts is produced post advance research conducted in wind tunnels. This ascertains the compatibility with the overall aerodynamic the distinguishing style of the M3. The new components that are made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CRFP) have been thoroughly tested for climate and durability during development to ensure long-term quality. The same material can also be found on the roof panels on the M3 Coupe and the M6 Coupe.

The new rear deck lid spoiler, mirror caps, and front splitters are finished in a special clear coat laminate that reverberate ultraviolet radiation. BMW offers a 2-year / unlimited mileage warranty for these three aerodynamic performance appurtenances components. However, in case the accessories are installed prior to the delivery of M3 to the customers, the warranty coverage is limited of the 4-year or 50,000-mile whichever occurs earlier.
