BMW M3 with a new M Performance Exhaust with louder exhaust note

by Alex

Owners of the BMW M3 Coupe, Sedan or Convertible have the option of going for a new M performance exhaust system from BMW itself. The new system reduces the exhaust back pressure and this allows for a more powerful sound emanating from the working of the 414 HP, V8 engine that is fitted on these models. Any Authorized BMW Center would be able to install this kit and the price of the kit is $4,374 plus installation charges.

Weight of the new exhaust system is 20 lbs and is made up of a lightweight chrome-nickel alloy material that is extremely heat resistant. The new kit is lighter than the existing system. The material is called Inconel and has the property of being highly corrosion resistant, the reason it is being used extensively in the Motorsports of the highest levels.

The system has perforated inner pipes and polished titanium tips. There is also the M logo which is the letter from the name of the Performance kit engraved by laser technique upon the exhaust. As per a BMW statement which states thus: – “ultimate in technology and sportiness, accentuating the individual character of the BMW M3. The exhaust was developed using state-of-the art CAD and FEM technology ensuring optimum fit and OEM quality.”
