BMW reveals brand new 1-Series engines

BMW has actually updated its engines in its 1-Series rear-wheel drive hatch variety to bring more power and enhanced efficiency.

Prices for the 120i stays the same at $41,900 plus on-road expenses.

Going up to the 125i variation, the modified 2.0-litre engine gets a bump approximately 165kW and 310Nm of torque, enabling it to sprint from 0-100km/ h in 6.1 seconds instead of the 6.2 seconds of the outbound model.

The 125i’s fuel usage has dipped from 6.5 L/100km to 5.9 L/100km. It also gets LED fog lamps and the cost remains the same at $48,990 prior to on-road expenses.

The top-of-the-range M140i, that replaces the M135i, gains the brand name’s brand-new 3.0-litre twin-scroll turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine that creates a significant 250kW and 500Nm, a bump of 10kW and 50Nm over the outbound model. It drives the rear wheels through an eight-speed automated or six-speed manual transmission.

The brand-new engine permits the M140i to strike 100km/h in just 4.6 seconds, down from 4.9 seconds all the while sipping 7.1 L/100km, which is a conserving of 0.4 L/100km.

BMW has likewise included a 12-speaker Harman/Kardon stereo and leather cut seats with a heating function for the front travelers. The seats also provide electrical modification and back assistance.

Now its set to cost from $64,900, the M140i represents a $2000 cost bump over the M135i.
