BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo based on E63AMG revealed with 850 horsepower

by SpeedLux

Brabus has done it again. Here is another “850” designation that is you already guessed hints at 850 horsepower. This time the 850 6.0 Biturbo treatment has been given to the Mercedes E63 AMG. Both sedan and wagon are available.

Brabus engineers started with an increased displacement of six liters (361 cu. in.) from the standard 5.5 liters and added two turbochargers, increased bore of the eight cylinders to 99 millimeters (3.89 in.), along with a new precision-balanced billet crankshaft with a stroke of 96 mm (3.78) instead of the standard 90.5 millimeters (3.56 in.) together with special forged billet pistons and billet piston rods completes the displacement increase.

There is also a new air intake system, free-flow metal catalysts and a BRABUS high-performance exhaust system with controlled butterfly valve.

At the push of a button drivers can choose between a quiet “Coming Home” mode and an earthy, full-blooded V8 sound when the “Sport” position is selected letting the V8 roam wildly.

This basically new engine delivers 850 horsepower and 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft) of torque between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm. For the car the torque is electronically limited to 1,150 Nm (848 lb-ft) to save the drivetrain.

The engine is connected to a modified SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission and with rear-wheel drive the BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo goes from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds and with 4MATIC all-wheel drive the power is put to the ground much more effectively, taking only 3.1 seconds. The top speed ranges between 300 km/h (186 mph) and more than 350 km/h (217 mph).

Aerodynamic updates include carbon fiber bodykit, consisting of a new front spoiler lip, rear separation edge and diffuser insert.

A wide range of wheels with size up to 20-inches are available fitted with special high-performance tires supplied by technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA. T

Interior boasts fine handcrafted leather in any desired color, aluminum shift paddles and RACE pedals.
