Bugatti President dismisses a Super Veyron but hints at a replacement

by SpeedLux

Bugatti has very clearly dismissed the rumors of company making a so-called Super Veyron.

Speaking to Autoblog at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance recently, Bugatti President Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber stated that said the company has delivered approximately 390 of the 450 Veyrons that they promised to build.

He further stated that while the standard model has already been phased out, Bugatti won’t introduce anything more powerful than the Super Sport / Grand Sport Vitesse which use a quad-turbocharged 8-liter W16 engine that generates a massive 1,200 HP (882 kW) and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) of torque.

So from the above statement is very clear that we would not be able see a Super Veyron anymore; however Schreiber revealed that the company is already working on a mind-blowing replacement. He declined to give any further details about the car but Bugatti chief vehicle engineer Jens Schulenburg has previously said that the big challenge for the company on the next car would be to reduce the weight and for this they are looking at some incredible technologies, such as wheels made entirely from carbon fiber material.

Schulenburg also hinted that hybrids vehicles are also definitely something that the company was looking at too.
