Cadillac has recently released performance specifications for the 2014 ELR.
Set to go on sale in January next year, the ELR which is expected to come with a starting price of $75,995 will come equipped with a 1.4-liter petrol engine-generator, a 16.5 kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor that would generate a maximum output of 217 hp (162 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. This would enable the coupe to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 kmph) in 7.8 seconds in range-extending mode and in 8.8 seconds in EV mode. The model will be able to hit a top speed of 106 mph (170 kmph).
The ELR has the capacity to travel approximately 37 miles (60 km) on electricity alone and would be able to cover the distance of 345 miles (555 km) overall. The battery can be recharged in around 12.5 – 18 hours with a 120V travel charger or approximately five hours when charging with a 240V charging station.
Talking about the fuel efficiency, the company expects the model to return fuel economy of 33 mpg combined and 82 MPGe in EV mode.
