China Greets the Toyota Corolla Hybrid

by SpeedLux

It seems that the automakers of the world are rallying to provide potent customers with more and more eco-friendly vehicles over the years. One such automaker is the one that comes from Japan, Toyota. The company has now actually released a hybrid version of its Toyota Corolla. The car was first unveiled during a recent event that took place in China.

Based on the rumors and reports which are swirling around as of the moment, it seems that the Japanese automaker actually plans to start sales of the vehicle in China no later than the second half of this year. The car is going to benefit from the chassis of most ASEAN versions of the model. The car, however, comes with several new elements, such as, restyled headlamps, front bumper and a radiator front grille.

Now, for this hybrid car in particular, what is going to make it move? Well, the car moves thanks to a 1.5L gasoline engine that is accompanied by an electric motor as well. The engine runs on what is known as the Atkinson cycle. Reports also have it that if only Toyota had decided to use a system on the Toyota Corolla Hybrid that is similar to that of the company’s Yaris Hybrid, customers should be able to expect a total power output of 100 hp.
