Citroen C3-XR spotted undisguised in China

by SpeedLux

The Citroen C3-XR is slated to be revealed later in 2014, but ahead of it the new compact crossover was spotted in China, in undisguised form.

The car was previewed first time earlier this year in April at the Beijing Motor Show with the name C-XR concept. Now, it seems Citroen is giving finishing touches at its production end as the launching date comes closer.

If believed on the prototype the new car will be commercialized with “C3-XR” moniker and would be positioned between the 2008 and DS6 WR.

The crossover will also be wholly manufactured in China by the Citroen & Dongfeng Motor Group JV.

It is reported the base engine of C3-XR will be a naturally-aspirated 1.8. The output is not yet specified. By the end of November this year the car may go official at the Guangzhou Auto Show.

Sales may be commenced this year.
