Romanian automaker Dacia, owned by Renault, stated on Saturday some of its production had been hit by what seemed to be the international ransomware global cyber attack that has infected computer systems in almost 100 countries.

Renault stopped production at numerous sites previously on Saturday to prevent the spread of the cyber attack.

“Part of Dacia’s production in Mioveni has been affected by disfunctionalities of IT systems and some employees were sent back home,” Dacia stated. “The procedure was required to avoid extending the disfunctions, which at first glance are a consequence of the global cyber attack.”

It seems that this cyber attack was really big. Nissan, Renault have been also affected by this attack.
