Daimler to reveal long-distance electric car at Paris Motor Show

Germany’s Daimler will raise the drape on its much-anticipated long-distance electric automobile at the Paris Motor Show in October, as the automaker get ready to compete with Tesla Motors Inc’s Model X.

The company will display a prototype of an electric-powered Mercedes vehicle with a 500-kilometre (310 miles) variety, Chief Development Officer Thomas Weber stated in Stuttgart at an occasion for journalists.

“The structure is prepared, the groups are working and the initial results from road tests are coming in quick succession,” he stated.

Weber did not define how quickly the vehicle would strike the roadway but said it would be at some point this decade.
