Dodge Viper may gain supercharged V10 engine

by SpeedLux

Dodge Viper is likely to receive an upgraded engine in order to remain a top production of its company. Engineers at Dodge are in contemplation of upgrading Viper with supercharged V10 engines in order to maintain the superiority of model amidst poor sales. The business condition of Viper does not look good on papers and sales have been further hit by the launch of Challenger SRT Hellcat and Charger SRT Hellcat, which are powered by 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine that generates 707 bhp and 880 Nm of torque.

The superiority of both the SRT Hellcats can easily overshadow the prominence which is intended for the Viper. Though there has been no official statement regarding this, reports suggest that an 8.4-litre supercharged V10 engine is in consideration of the developers for the Viper. The supercharger is said to enable the engine generate 800 bhp.
