Officials in Calvert Co. report that both drivers were killed in a head-on crash which took place Wednesday morning around 11:53 a.m. in the location of Plum Point Road and Cecil Lane, Maryland.
Because of the severity of the crash, first responding deputies asked members of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team (CRT) to carry out the investigation. Reconstruction units showed up on scene and determined that a 2017 Ford Fusion was traveling eastbound on Plum Point Road and Cecil Lane. Around this time, a 2011 Ford Escape was traveling westbound on Plum Point Road in the same location. The initial investigation revealed the 2017 Ford Fusion was going eastbound when it crossed the center line and struck the 2011 Ford Escape in a head-on accident.
Both the motorist of the Ford Fusion and the Ford Escape were carried to the Calvert Medical Health Center where they succumbed to their injuries. The Ford Fusion was run by Susan Irene Brown, a 66-year-old female of Prince Frederick. The Ford Escape was run by Angela Elaine Sunstone, a 41-year-old female of North Beach.
As of now, the investigation is still ongoing.
