Ferrari 599 GTO Ended Up In A Ditch In Czech Republic

by Ionut Dragomir

This isn’t the best week for Ferrari or Ferrari’s owners considering that yesteday we saw a Ferrari F40 destroyed in Houston, Texas and now a Ferrari 599 GTO gets the same treatment. The car was driven by a 69-year-old driver who failed to keep the shiny side up while driving in wet conditions near Prague in the Czech Republic.

Accoding to police spokeswoman Ivana Ježková, the driver wasn’t drunk or high on anything… he simply misjudged the conditions. He lost control because of wet road conditions, ended up in a ditch on top of its roof next to the D11 highway.

“The driver did not conform to the conditions of the road. The vehicle skidded, became uncontrollable and ended up in the grassy ditch next to the highway.”

Fortunately, the only thing hurt was his pride, unforunately, the car is pretty damaged considering that the 599 GTO looks to be a near-total loss, with the roof bent significantly.

The damage is worth 4,500,000 Czech crowns or approximately 180,000 Euro.
