Ferrari 599 Roadster caught testing

by Alex

Spy images of what has only been a rumor till now indicates the Ferrari 599 is indeed a reality and would be the successor of the 575M Superamerica.. the reasons for such a conclusion are the A pillar on top is taped with a joint. This allows for the top to be removable. The car has a convertible top feature.

The engine of the 2011 Ferrari 599 GTO is expected to be a V12 delivering 670 HP at 8250 rpm. The max torque produced is 620 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine would have a difference though in that it would develop 25 hp of extra power and this to counter the increase in weight due to its convertible top feature.

Limited numbers of the new 599 carbio would be made available, just like it happened for the 575 Superamerica that was launched in 2005. The official launch of the car is scheduled to be held at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California in August.
