Rendering of the upcoming Ferrari 599 Spider

by Alex

The Ferrari 599 Spider roadster was caught testing recently at Maranello. The bruits about the spider version of the Ferrari 599 has been doing the rounds for quite sometime now. In fact the rumors were quite prevalent some years back though at that time there was no real data to substantiate the rumors.

All of that, it seems,  is soon going to be put to rest once and forever for as per the latest news, Ferrari is set to debut its 599 Spider at Pebble Beach in August 2010. But till then, here is something to satiate our hunger for here is the computer generated rendering of the wind-blowing convertible that has been made available by both Concours d’Elegance and Motor Authority.

Like 575 Superamerica launch in 2005, the Ferrari 599 Spider will also be available in limited numbers. The new 599 spider proffers a folding-metal roof. It features a V12 engine that delivers an extra 25 HP to take care of its extra weight. The V12 engine, as performed in the 2011 Ferrari 599 GTO, delivers power levels at 670 HP at 8250 rpm and a maximum torque level of 620 Nm at 6500 rpm.
