Ferrari announces schedule for the 2011 Ferrari Challenge Race

by Alex

There has been a lot of talk and that too in the not so recent past about the Ferrari 485 Italia’s reliability factor. Notwithstanding this fact, the car is yet the main forerunner for the company’s name and fame. The car is therefore going to participate in the 2011 Ferrari Challenge series as the 459 Challenge model name.

The race schedule has been announced by Ferrari North America and the route would include a number of race tracks along North America. This includes one at Montreal and two at Canada. The Montreal event is supposed to once again support the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix and the other at Toronto where it will be held for the first time as a support race for Izod IndyCar Series.

The details of the schedule are as mentioned here. April 28th to May 1st at the Infineon Raceway, Sonoma, California; May 20th to 22nd at the Laguna Seca, Monterey, California; June 10 till June 12 at Montreal, Quebec, Canada as a support race for the Canadian Grand Prix; July 8th to 10th at Toronto, Ontario, Canada as a support race for the IndyCar Series; July 29th to 30th at Lime Rock Park, Lime Rock, Connecticut; Sept 23rd to 25th at Homestead Miami Speedway, Homestead, Florida.

Auto racing aficionados consider the 2011 Ferrari Challenge Series to be a cant miss event. The 458 would therefore be facing people who are really interested in the performance of the car and its only time that would state if it lives up to its name and fame.
