Fiat 500L, 500L Trekking and 500L Living gain a new 1.4-liter Turbo T-Jet engine with 120 HP

by SpeedLux

The Fiat 500L, 500L Trekking and 500L Living are larger and heavier than the standard model and so to carry their weight, the company has recently announced that they will be available with a new 1.4-liter Turbo T-Jet engine.

Designed to deliver prompt acceleration, the 1.4-liter Turbo T-Jet engine can generate an output of 120 HP (88 kW) and 215 Nm (158 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the 500L to accelerate from 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) in 10.2 seconds and can hit a top speed of 189 kmph (117 mph).

This may not be very fast when compared to other similar models but it’s significantly better than the earlier 500L. The earlier model had the 0.9-liter TwinAir Turbo engine that could output 105 HP (74 kW) and 145 Nm (107 lb-ft) of torque which could achieve the acceleration of 0-100 kmph in 12.3 seconds and came with a top speed of 180 kmph (112 mph).

The models are currently available to order in Italy and pricing kicks off from €20,920 for the 500L, €21,626 for the 500L Trekking and €20,063 for the 500L Living.
