Finally, Behold the Koenigsegg Regera!

by SpeedLux

The time has finally come for every eye to meet the Koenigsegg Regera, which is potentially one of the most anticipated supercars of the century. The automaker in charge of the vehicle has always represented it as a megacar and here are the details of this very supercar.

According to the Swedish automaker, the car is meant to be a luxury alternative to the company’s extremely lightweight conventional road legal race cars. The company also points out that the Regera moniker is actually the word that Swedish people use to say ‘reign’. Well, it seems that the car really deserves that name, considering all the power it has under the hood that can actually make it the king of the streets.

For the sake of a high performance, the Koenigsegg Regera has been well equipped with a 5.0L V8 engine featuring no less than three electric motors. This engine configuration gives the car a total power of more than 1,500 hp. Also, one thing that is pretty interesting about this latest megacar from Koenigsegg is that the automaker has equipped it with the company’s Direct Drive system. Thanks to this very system, there is no need for a conventional transmission system anymore. The new system connects the combustion engine directly to the rear axle without the need for any gears. In addition to that, the new system can even decrease drivetrain losses on highway quite significantly, by up to 50% or more.

The Swedish automotive marquee has confirmed that the Koenigsegg Regera is a car that won’t find any problems at all flying from a complete standstill to the speed of 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. In fact, within only 20 seconds, the car will have reached the speed of 400 km/h.

Last but not least, the Koenigsegg Regera also benefits from an active rear wing spoiler that can be fully folded when not in use. This is the very first ever to exist in the world. The Regera is also touted as the first car ever on this planet that is actually capable of automatically controlling all its body closures.
