First Spy Pictures New Toyota Supra The 2018 Sports Car

by SpeedLux

The hybrid sports car has actually been spied undergoing testing in camouflage for the first time.

The last Supra headed out of production in 2002, so the return of the iconic name great news. Earlier this year we found out that Toyota and BMW were to partner up and develop a brand new sports car together, which would become both the brand-new Supra and the replacement for the Z4 (said to be called Z5).

It was first thought that the styling of the new Supra would be greatly influenced by the Toyota FT-1 supercar, however these camouflaged spy images reveal a toned-down design. It still looks much shorter than the models of the Z5 we’ve seen up until now.

A long bonnet includes a front bumper jutting out from underneath the headlights, while a sculpted rear-end is plainly obvious. This test mule likewise includes a hard-top instead of the Z5’s material roofing system, and it’s thought that the Supra will be strictly offered as coupe.

Rumors recommend the brand-new Supra will come fitted with a straight-six engine from BMW’s powertrain stable, passing up the four-cylinder engines of lower Z5s. However, whatever the engine the Supra’s ace card need to come in the form of hybrid-electric technology to enhance performance.
