The side drape airbags might have been improperly crammed in certain 2015-16 Ford Transit vans, prompting a recall of 37,066 units.

There are concerns over 2015-16 Transit van with the side curtain airbags– specifically those produced between March 12, 2014, and March 18, 2016, in cars purchased with low roofings.

Due to a mistake in the assembly process at the TRW facility in Mexico, some automobiles may have had their side drape airbags incorrectly loaded, which could cause them to deploy improperly in the case of a side accident or rollover.

None of the fatalities have been reported.

Dealers are being advised to check and, where essential, reorient the side curtain airbag assembly. The recall project is slated to begin on May 16.

IF you have one, you should think about parking your van till the concern is dealt with. Ford has released a stop-sale on those units still in inventory, and advised dealers not to show those afflicted cars prior to the air bags are repairs.
