Ford to unveil self-driving Ford Fusion Hybrid sedan

Ford will debut an updated variation of its self-driving Ford Fusion Hybrid sedan, one geared up with advanced sensors, more computing power and exclusive software that assists the automobile think for itself.

The company’s second-generation self-driving model has a brain situated in the trunk that processes information gathered by a host of modern sensors that can see the roadway.

There, the equivalent of numerous high-end computer systems create one terabyte of data per hour. Ford states that’s more than the typical individual would use in mobile phone data in 45 years. Those computer systems process data collected by the sensors with a software system Ford has established in-house.
