Future BMW M Models to Feature OLED

by SpeedLux

If you happen to be thinking about buying upcoming vehicles from BMW, you may well be in for a treat. The luxury German automaker has officially announced that it is planning to equip its upcoming M models with the new OLED lighting technology. Just as a reminder, the company has actually previewed the lighting technology in question on the BMW M4 Iconic Lights concept vehicle, which made its debut just several days earlier at the 2015 CES event. Not long after the unveiling of the vehicle, rumors already started swirling around the web indicating that the German company was actually prepping a new model that would feature a lighting technology similar to that presented on the concept vehicle. Now, the Bavarian company has actually confirmed the rumors to be true.

For those who may not have had the chance to do so just yet, perhaps checking out the official Facebook page of BMW is a good idea. It is where the company announces its plan to feature the OLED technology on an upcoming M model.

Unfortunately, the luxury German automaker is still keeping further details of the upcoming M models a mystery up to now. All that the company is revealing is that the BMW M model in question will come out quite soon. Just as a reminder, there are rumors that the luxury German automotive marquee will be unveiling its upcoming M2 model when the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show event eventually kicks off. For your information, the aforementioned automotive expo will kick off come September 15, 2015. With that being said, it is very likely that the OLED technology will be presented on the imminent BMW M2.

As it turns out, the new lighting technology is not the only thing to be excited about in terms of the BMW M2. The vehicle in question will also come with a turbocharged 3.0L 6-cylinder engine, which offers 380 hp of power output. This will make the M2 more powerful by 54 hp than the company’s M235i Coupe model. The BMW M2 will reportedly enter production in November 2015. As such, customers may well expect to get the car by 2016.
