Google Autonomous Cars in Two Accidents in April

by SpeedLux

It is the first time that Google’s cars have actually seen two accidents in a single month since June, last year. Other information points in this report: the cars drove 66,767 autonomous miles (the greatest single month overall), 1,171 self-driving miles per automobile (the highest in 6 months), and 39,382 manual miles (the highest single month total). While possibly fascinating, none of these records are especially surprising nothing the overall variety of automobiles this month also jumped from 54 to 57.

Regrettably, Google also made some modifications to the format of its reports this month. The company is no longer detailing the number of each type of vehicles it has in each city, instead deciding to simply share the overall number of each kind of automobile. As of this month’s report, there are 23 total Lexus cars, and 34 overall prototypes. Full report.
