Honda Recall The Accord Model

by Ionut Dragomir

Honda Motor Company, announced the recalling of the Accord cars of the 2008-2010 model years.

According to Inautonews, the Accord model which was sold in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region will be recalled because of a problem with the software that controls the automatic transmission. Still, no complaints regarding this problem have been reported yet.

Without an update, the transmission’s secondary shaft will be damaged if the gears are quickly shifted between reverse, neutral and drive. This can cause the bearing to brake leading in an engine stall or difficulty engaging the parking gear.

According to the Japanese automaker, 2.097 Accord vehicles made between 2008 and 2010 will be affected by the recall. Beside this, Honda will also recall two million cars globally, 1.5 million of them being sold in the US, 760.000 in China and 135.000 in Canada.

Finally, no accidents or injuries have been reported because of this problem.
