Honda S660 Coupe Sold Out in Japan This Year

by SpeedLux

Honda Motor Co. is having problem to keep up with the demand for the S660 mini roaster. The good news is that it has sold out all the 8,600 roadsters scheduled for production in 2015. Honda is fully booked until June next year. Despite that, most of the car buyers are aged above 40 years old who are repeat customers. The demographic is in stark contrast compared to the S2000 it debuted in 1999. Many automobile manufacturers in Japan face the same problems. This is because young people have lesser income to buy new cars.

The statistic shows that the number of driver license holders have reduced by 46% in the past 13 years. Most young people prefer to travel around via public transport. Honda believes they are able to increase the percentage of young car buyers slowly. Honda will be taking orders again in October. The S660 is a key class mini car with a small 660 cc engine. The two seat roadster can travel at a maximum speed of 50 kph to 60 kpg. The S660 is best for people who want to tour around the country side at slow speed and feel the wind. The small rear windows can be opened electronically.
