Hyundai recalling model year 2016 Sonatas

Hyundai Motor is recalling 602 model year 2016 Sonata automobiles made from March 28, 2016 through April 12, 2016.

The automobiles have a driver-side front air bag that could not properly secure the motorist’s neck from injury in the unlikely event of a crash. As such, these cars cannot abide by the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”

Hyundai will alert owners, and dealerships will replace the motorist’s front air bag module free of charge. The recall is anticipated to start October 14, 2016.

Owners may contact Hyundai client service at 1-800-633-5151. Hyundai’s number for this recall is 148.
