Hyundai Recalls 200.000 Veracruz and Santa Fe Units

by Zack Colt

Due to some problems that have been reported to Hyundai, more precisely 6,730 warranty claims and 13 customer complaints, Hyundai needs to reclaim 200.000 of the models Santa Fe and Veracruz to the dealership.

Appearently, the problem is at the drivers Air Bag, which does not seem to function properly because of the clock spring contact assembly for the driver’s airbag, which might be damaged over time, leading to the airbag not deploying in case of a crash, and it is present at 26.528 units of the 2007 – 2008 Veracruz and 178.685 of the same model year Santa Fe SUVs, according to the NHTSA.

Happily, no injures or deaths have been reported yet, and the problem has been detected, thus the owners that see the “Air Bag” warning lamp on should start taking their cars to the dealership starting with the beggining of this month.
