Imagining political leaders as cars

by SpeedLux
Vladimir Putin – Lada Niva

We often happen to recognizing politicians, not by their policies but their image. If a leader doesn’t appeal to significant amount of people with their talks, utility, they have little chance of being elected. Hopefully we can say same for the cars, as long as they don’t appeal to the general want of customers, there are little chances that someone will purchase them.

We can question, that what cars best represent most prominent political leaders of present times? Check out the following.

Vladimir Putin – Lada Niva

Vladimir Putin – Lada Niva

Its pleasing to inform that the Lada Niva off-roader is still on sale regardless of being based on a decades-old model, not as geared up as latest models. It still shares one thing similar with Vladimir Putin, that he is still the President of Russia and maybe the major figure of the country. Similar to Putin, this Lada could be alleged of masterminding an artificial performance boost.

Donald Trump – Ford F150

Donald Trump – Ford F150

No doubt that billionaire tycoon is the loudest voice in the 2016 American Presidential elections, Donald Trump is a brash character who doesn’t bother with what others are going to think about him. Being such a divisive character, some would have questioned whether he has the staying power of his rivals after being elected – just like some have questioned if the new aluminium-bodied Ford F150 pickup has the longevity of its steel-bodies competitors.

Tony Blair – MG ZT-T 260 estate

Tony Blair – MG ZT-T 260 estate

The MG ZT was not globally admired – built in an awkward collaboration between the failing British manufacturer and BMW, this twilight design may have left a bad taste in the mouth. The V8-powered ZT-T 260 channels us to another ’90s throwback – Tony Blair – who, despite promising early signs, entirely lost public support after he supported entering Iraq War. And of course got through a lot of oil. Be it Longbridge or Baghdad, both Tony and the MG left more problems than they’d solved.

Hillary Clinton – Tesla Model 3

Hillary Clinton – Tesla Model 3

Hillary Clinton might have chances to become next President of the United States and ultimately the first female President of the country – a lofty promise we are waiting to see if she can deliver. That’s similar to our observation of Elon Musk’s dream of an affordable electric car that can become reality as well – the Tesla Model 3 promises to be the most affordable or budget-friendly route into premium zero emissions motoring ever offered. The Model 3 can also read your emails to you, or indeed those who might happen to be listening.

Angela Merkel – Volkswagen Golf

Angela Merkel – Volkswagen Golf

Efficient, effective, but also utterly uninteresting? This description fits equally to the Volkswagen Golf or German Chancellor Angela Merkel. They are symbolic of the kind of solid, unchanging and sensible character that defines their country and although neither is likely to get your pulse racing – sorry Mr Sauer – both get the task done in the most Germanic way possible. Like a Volkswagen Golf fitted with bull bars, Chancellor Merkel is small but packs a punch.

Kim Jong-un – Ural 4320 MLRS

Kim Jong-un – Ural 4320 MLRS

Apart from Vladimir Putin, the next most possible person to bring about nuclear annihilation is North Korea’s admired Supreme Leader, Kim Jong-un. A noted enthusiast of cake and of pointing at things, Kim is notorious for directing international relations with the subtlety of a massive truck with rockets strapped to it – pretty much like the Ural 4320. We can say that Mr Kim is familiar with this truck, though whether those rockets will really fire is anyone’s guess.

Boris Johnson – Morgan 3-Wheeler

Boris Johnson – Morgan 3-Wheeler

Picking simply one highlight of Boris Johnson’s profession as Mayor of London is difficult– from bulldozing a little Japanese kid on the rugby pitch, to obtaining stuck on a zip wire promoting the Olympics, he’s never ever failed to raise eyebrows. Similar to what Morgan 3-Wheeler did when it first showed up– a three-wheeled toy for the cost of a proper cars? Almost as preposterous as Mr Johnson’s haircut.

Barack Obama – Ford Mustang

Barack Obama – Ford Mustang

The latest Ford Mustang has done everything in its power to ingratiate itself with markets outside North America– consisting of introducing a proper right-hand drive variation for the UK. Likewise, President Barrack Obama is unquestionably the most internationally intriguing leader that U.S.A has had in present memory– now in the twilight of his term, we can’t blame him for breaking out a cocktail on a Hawaiian beach and settling back. Possibly with a line-lock-assisted burnout.

Theresa May – Mini hatchback

Theresa May – Mini hatchback

Mini hatchback and Theresa May are stuck to the legacy of their predecessors. Whether Mrs May can replicate the Mini in being noticeably better with each successive generation, however, remains to be seen. We know the Mini provides surprising performance and limpet-like grip round corners, however we’re unsure whether Mrs May will show the same grip when it pertained to her handling of Britain’s exit of the European Union. Maybe more individuals are interested in Larry the cat.

Silvio Berlusconi – Fiat 500L

Silvio Berlusconi – Fiat 500L

Although Silvio Berlusconi hasn’t been in power for a few years now, he still remains popular and Italy’s political scene has been permanently formed by him. Physically repulsive, fairly dubious and extremely underperforming, the Fiat 500L seems an ideal match for Italy’s highly controversial leader. That said, he might require over the 1.6-litre diesel’s 118hp to make a quick getaway from those notorious Bunga celebrations prior to the paparazzi descend.
