2013 Cadillac ATS: Interior Spy Shots

by Zack Colt

Cadillac and small cars have never been quite a fit, until now. Yes, appearently things are changing, since GM’s luxury brand is close to finishing work on its new 3-Series and C-Class rival.
The Cadillac line-up has been completed by the car codenamed ATS, which has been captured for the first time on film, testing at Nurburgring circuit in Germany.

Production for ATS is scheduled to start at GM’s Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant in Michigan next year, and the appearance in showrooms by the summer of the same year.
Concerning the style of the car, the Cadillac designers are planning to stick to the brand’s ‘Art and Science’, influenced a lot by CTS evident in the new car. Upright head and tail lights appear at their respective ends and dual exhaust tips can be seen in the rear bumper.
The regular ATS line is supposed to have two engine options: a 3.6-liter V-6 with 330 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque on tap, as well as a 2.0-liter turbocharged mill with 270 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque on tap. Obviously the 2.0-liter four-cylinder model should be the most fuel efficient of the bunch with an expected fuel economy of 22/32 mpg city/highway. It is likely that the transmission will include a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic, though an eight-speed automatic may be in use by the time the 2013 model year is revealed.
