Koenigsegg Regera Teased and Spied

by SpeedLux

If you remember correctly, we once reported to you that the automaker Koenigsegg was prepping a vehicle model it referred to as a ‘megacar’. Yes, that’s right, we are talking about the Koenigsegg Regera. Now, the automaker has decided to release an official video teasing the car in question. The car will reportedly benefit from a plug-in hybrid system.

The teaser video clip reveals that the vehicle is going to feature a cap that is operated electronically. It seems that this cap will take full advantage of the carbon fiber material used to build the body panels of the vehicle. Also, apart from the video, there are even a number of spy images that confirm how the car will be coming with a visual design that is significantly different from previous vehicle lineups from the aforementioned automaker. Honestly speaking, the rear end of the vehicle looks more like a Lamborghini rather than a Koenigsegg vehicle. Other components noticeable on the vehicle consist of uniquely shaped LED taillights, a large and aggressively looking rear diffuser, ventilated rear fenders and also a large exhaust pipe coming in an oval shape.

The automaker claims that its latest vehicle model, the Koenigsegg Regera, will be just as powerful as the company’s One:1 vehicle model. The car is reportedly going to pack an electric motor with a total power output of 690 bhp. Taking that into account, it is believed that the conventional engine of the vehicle will not have to work as hard as the one used on the Koenigsegg One:1 does. Speaking of the Koenigsegg One:1, it packs a 5.0L V8 twin-turbo engine under its hood. Its total power output is rated at 1,341 bhp and this is most likely the total power output that customers will be able to expect from the Regera as well.

If rumors around the web are to be true, then the Koenigsegg Regera will be the fastest accelerating car ever in the history of automobiles so far. The car will make its debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show event.
