Lamborghini wants to expand China operations, aims for 25% increase in sales

by Ron Grant

According to a report filed with Reuters, Lamborghini is planning to expand its operations in China kicking everything off with a goal to sell at least 100 units of its exotic vehicles this year.

The luxury brand is planning to explore the booming market of China and is looking forward to a 25% jump in its sales figures for 2010. To entice the host country, the Lamborghini unwrapped a Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce special edition that is solely for the Chinese market.

The Limited Edition China Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce donts a flat gray finish with details in strong orange. There will be only 10 units of this Limited Edition China Lamborghini with each bearing a badge of its number and the name of the owner.

The SuperVeloce has a V12 powerplant that has no problems carrying its body which is lighter than 100 kilograms from its older sibling with its 670 horsepower. The power-weight ratio of the LP 670-4 Murcielago is around 2.3 kilograms per hp on an AWD configuration. Zooming from o to 100 km/h is not a problem and done in just 3.2 seconds. The top edition of the Murcielago can go to a top speed of 342 km/h.

Lamborghini wants to expose the Chinese market to a culture of sports cars. Just recently, the Italian brand opened its 7th showroom in the country. This one is in Shenzen and will be followed soon by a dealership in Xiamen.
