Land Rover is one automobile manufacturer that requires absolutely no introduction. For the year 2010, sales of Land Rover as given by their new vehicle registrations details has gone up to a whopping 42,000 in the United Kingdom alone. The numbers are quite amazing for Land Rover which translates to a 28 percent increase in their sales as compared to their year ago sales figure which stood at 33,000. This increase is a combined display of multiple models from Land Rover. The registration of the Land Rover Freelander is up by 37 percent, the Range Rover is up by 29 percent while registrations of the Discovery has gone up by 27 percent. Colin Green, the Land Rover UK managing director has stated that the customers are now looking at the total package that Land Rover are providing and not just the price of the cars. They are looking at the total expenses of owning a car including the services that Land Rover so readily provides before purchasing the car. The press release from Land Rover stated due to betterment of fuel values and with brilliant residual returns the sales and the market has grown rapidly.

The great response to the 2011 MY Vehicles feature is a major reason behind the rapid rise in the figures for the year. The cars are also offering great fuel consumption rate which are also attracting the buyers. The Freelander 2 TD4_e is topping the list of the cars being sold solely due to the sheer great mileage it provides the buyers with. This Freelander model is equipped with the Land Rover’s Intelligent Stop Start technology which reduces the CO2 emissions for the car by up to an amazing 20 percent in road traffic.

Colin Green further stated that though competition is gradually increasing in the automobile market, Land Rover has the perfect marketing strategies to keep up with the sales in 2011. Green further stated that the company will continue to invest in the production of the brand new model coming up in the later part of the year. The upcoming model, the brand New Range Rover Evoque has been officially revealed to the world on the 7th of January. The car will be produced and manufactured at the company’s production plant in Halewood, Liverpool. In the world post-recession this move from Land Rover will give rise to 1,500 new jobs. We just hope they keep up the good work.
