Lexus Announces LFA Production Completed

by SpeedLux

Lexus, the luxury arm of world’s best automaker,Toyota revealed that the LFA production at Toyota Motomachi plant in Japan had been completed on Friday, 14th December, with 500th car, a white Nurburgring Package model produced in even more limited quantities. While just 500 LFAs have been built, only 50 of them were Nurburgring editions. Lexus says the final car will undergo evaluation and testing before it is delivered to its owner.

Apparently the Lexus LFA went into production at the Motomachi plant in late 2010 and production was completed in phases only one unit per day, according to Toyota. The supercar’s role for Lexus is far from over, however, with Lexus promising that the LFA will inspire future models both in spirit, and in the technical skills gained while building it. The white Nurburgring Package model features a 4.8-liter V10 engine that’s connected to a new six-speed sequential gearbox. Peak power output of this engine reaches 562 hp and 354 pound-feet of torque. It blasts from 0-60 in just 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 203 mph, all for $375,000. They also said that the LFA supercar also benefits about 65% from the Formula One-grade carbon fiber and it’s claimed will reduce vehicle weight significantly.
