Lotus will not produce any more Europa after this year

by Alex

No big shakes or ripple caused by the news of Lotus ceasing production of its Elise based coupe – the Europa. Its continuous poor show fuelled with the arrival of the Evora in the scene was too much of a competition for Europa to handle.

Fresh orders are not being accepted anymore for the Europa. The production lines are presently supporting only the last of the previous orders to be completely wound down by December this year. The Europa is now being seen as a stop gap arrangement by Lotus to fill in the void till its larger coupe, the Evora was ready. Three variants of the Evora is now available since 2008 with 200 hp engines humming under it.
