The Lotus Evora has been out for quite some time and there are, in fact, reasons to believe that the company may well be launching a new vehicle model sometime soon. Well, it seems that this is just the case indeed.

As reported by the UK Car Magazine, the aforementioned automaker is currently putting efforts into building a new Evora model. However, unlike before, this new model will not end up as a compact sports car. Instead, if the report is to be believed, we can all expect to see a soft crossover Evora model from Lotus. Nevertheless, the vehicle will have its rear-wheel-drive (RWD) drivetrain left intact. Well, to tell the truth, this is actually rather unfortunate for a crossover vehicle. This basically means that the car will possess no reliable off-roading capabilities. With that being said, it seems safe to say that the new soft crossover Evora will be but a more rugged and raised Evora.

Speaking of the next generation Lotus Evora, the head of Lotus Cars, Jean-Marc Gales, claims that it will prove to be significantly less heavier, hence significantly faster, than those other cars available in its class. As for now, there is no exact launch date set for the release of the crossover in question just yet. Yet, chances are, it will seemingly have to wait until 2016 at least. But for those who want to have a sneak peek at the facelift version of the Lotus Evora, they may as well head to the Geneva Motor Show event that will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, come 2015.

The British automaker is planning to put a sticker of £100,000 for the Lotus Evora soft crossover. Additionally, the company is also known to be planning a top-down version of the model. The latter will be appropriately known as the Lotus Evora Roadster. In fact, Lotus claims that building such a roadster is really the easiest thing to carry out. Lastly, the UK Car Magazine is also indicating that the company has a hardcore vehicle model underway.
