by SpeedLux

Traffic and Highway Patrol officers stopped a vehicle on the Newell Highway at West Wyalong in the state’s Central West and discovered the cash during a search of the automobile on Friday.

A 64-year-old guy was detained and accused of handling proceeds of crime.

He is due to deal with West Wyalong Local Court on August 25.

The Commander of Traffic and Highway Patrol, Acting Assistant Commissioner John Hartley, stated the arrest was part of the CATCH program, which has been running from 2009 and targets cars suspected of carrying drugs and other unlawful contraband.

Cops approximate the program has obstructed over $110 million worth of drugs, guns and other contraband.
