Man got shot, crashes car into Birmingham house and dies

A gunshot victim busted his car into a west Birmingham property on Saturday afternoon and after that, he died, as stated by police.

The driver was attacked in the chest during a counter while inside his car on 10th Place a little before 4 p.m., Sgt. Bryan Shelton stated on the scene.

Afterwards, the man crashed his car into an abandoned house, approximately two blocks away, in the 2100 block of the street in Pratt City.

Shelton stated that the victim, who was in his early 20s, was unresponsive on-spot and attempts were made to transport him to UAB Hospital where he was declared dead.

Victims’ name hasn’t been revealed.

Lt. Sean Edwards stated the preliminary police investigation tells that the victim stopped his white Buick on 10th Place and a white Dodge Charger pulled up next to him. Someone then exited the Charger and fired several shots into the auto.

Eye-witnesses told police the victim tried to escape from the area but could reach only two blocks before bursting into an abandoned house.

The Charger is reported to have fled the area and this issue is currently being investigated by Birmingham police.
